The National Crime Prevention Strategy

Public Safety Canada's National Crime Prevention Strategy (NCPS) funds the implementation and evaluation of select, evidence-informed initiatives that contribute to preventing and reducing crime in Canada.

One of the evidence-based approaches funded by the NCPS is the Wraparound model — an intensive care management model that brings together family, community supports, and service providers to help young people with complex needs achieve positive outcomes.

Lessons Learned

Evaluation results from crime prevention projects funded through the NCPS are oftentimes synthesized and disseminated to stakeholders in order to strengthen the evidence base on effective crime prevention approaches in Canada.
