Parliamentary Committee Notes: Toronto Terror Plot Arrests
In early July 2024, the RCMP received information about GTA resident Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi’s intent to carry out a terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).
An investigation was immediately initiated, including surveillance activities, with the aim of safeguarding public safety.
The RCMP laid terrorism charges against both Eldidis, including conspiracy to commit murder on behalf of ISIL. Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi has also been charged with an ISIL-related aggravated assault that allegedly occurred abroad in 2015.
