Parliamentary Committee Notes: Indian Government Agents’ Involvement in Violent Criminal Activity in Canada
On October 14, the RCMP took the unprecedented step of publicly disclosing the threat posed by Government of India actions that have come to light through various law enforcement operations, including ongoing RCMP investigations.
Any involvement of a foreign government in acts of violence against Canadian citizens on Canadian soil—either directly or indirectly—poses an unacceptable threat to the safety of our citizens, and a violation of Canadian sovereignty.
The Government of Canada takes any and all allegations of intimidation, harassment, or harmful targeting of communities or individuals in Canada seriously.
The RCMP is continuing to work with at-risk communities and other domestic and international partners to detect, deter, and disrupt any form of foreign actor interference in Canada.
