Résumé

"This is the second report on the evaluation of the Restorative Justice Initiative of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Three training workshops were held by the RCMP in January, 1997 as the first format step in implementing the philosophy and principles of restorative justice, and more specifically, in introducing one of its tools,—Family Group Conferencing or Community Justice Forum (CJF). The first report presented findings from mail-in and telephone surveys conducted across the country to collect information from individuals trained to be trainers and CJF facilitators. The second report will examine the effectiveness of this initiative in the context of theoretical claims proposed by its advocates, primarily from the CJF participants' perspective, and secondarily, from the facilitators' viewpoint on the basis of their direct experience with CJFs."--P. 1.
