Résumé

This is the second installment of a series of three videos which explore the unique considerations facing individuals with FAS that come into contact with the criminal justice system. Judge Cunliffe Barnett first heard about FAS over 20 years ago, at a workshop on FAS in his community. Shortly after, he was the presiding judge in a child protection hearing of a young boy with severe special needs who had been apprehended from alcoholic parents. He requested an assessment for FAS. Judge Barnett continues the poignant story of Geoffrey growing up to become an offender and a victim himself. Through several case examples, Judge Barnett portrays the heart-wrenching stories of people with FAS in the legal system.
